The bakery manufacturer Panifcom from Iasi has expansion plans: it wants to cover the entire national market, currently serving only the region of Moldova. A new technological line is being tested in the factory located on Calea Chișinăului, which would help the company strengthen its position on the national bakery market. The business is controlled by Ștefan Holicov and Liviu Bălănici.
To achieve this goal, the products must have a long shelf life of at least 21 days, so that the bread can be distributed in national stores, explained Cristina Potolincă, executive director of Panifcom. The company is currently looking at different preservation methods, such as controlled atmosphere packaging, freezing or pasteurization, as they have a clean recipe bakery range. This year, Panifcom completes 100 years of activity on the bakery market, and the event was marked, yesterday, with a tour of the factory on Calea Chișinăului.
10,000 loaves of bread are made per hour
The Panifcom factory in Iasi is spread over a total area of approximately 12,000 square meters. The entire production process is automated. Starting from the silos, with a capacity of 350 tons, the flour enters directly into one of the three bread production lines, and from kneading to packaging, everything is done without human intervention. The capacity of the three lines is 10,000 loaves per hour, and the silo covers the necessary for ten days.
How many clients does Panifcom have in its portfolio?
Every day, 100,000 loaves of bread arrive on 53 routes in the Moldova area. In order to make energy consumption more efficient, Panifcom implemented an energy management system by installing a 400 kW photovoltaic system, generated by 1,078 photovoltaic panels.
And now work is also underway to integrate an automated bread packaging equipment into the factory. The company works to order, having a total of about 1,300 customers and 1,800 delivery points. Currently, Panifcom has six own stores in Iasi.
Agropan Impex reported business of approximately 16 million euros last year
The Agropan Impex company, which produces under the Panifcom brand, last year reached a turnover of around 79 million lei (approximately 16 million euros), up 17.5% compared to 2022, when the financial year ended with 67, 2 million lei (13.6 million euros), according to the data reported by the company to the Ministry of Finance. The net profit in 2023 reached almost 9.4 million lei (1.9 million euros), increasing by 24% compared to the previous year, when the profit amounted to 7.6 million lei (1.5 million euros). euro), as it appears from the balance sheets of the company from Iași.
